Thomas Jefferson Suite

The Thomas Jefferson Suite is the most elegant of our rooms as we recognize the influence of our third President, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence and the creator of the Lewis and Clark expedition.

The whole second floor is your retreat, complete with the original stone fireplace which is currently under restoration and old growth flooring from 1837. The warmth of this hand restored 179 year old heart pine flooring will overwhelm you when you enter the room. Have you ever wanted your own reading room? In the 19th century, entertainment and discussions of the day occurred in the parlor room. Early Americans would read, play music and games or socialize. The Thomas Jefferson suite has its own such room that captures the comforting elegance of those times. Time travel nearly two centuries forward and you can soak in your air jetted bath complete with spa products from Provence, France. A shower is a shower is a shower. No, not really. Although Thomas Jefferson never had one, he would have loved this one. It is 48 x 36 inches wide with an all glass front and colonial style tiles. The four body sprays combined with the rain shower will most certainly energize you. Take your coffee and step out on to the back porch for a morning view of the Missouri River and Frontier Park. You can almost see the Lewis and Clark expedition members preparing for their journey. Thomas Jefferson never spent the night here, but he did enjoy the finer things in life… and this would have been one of them.
